Laura Cowell, MSW received her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Northwestern State University in 2020 and her Master of Social Work from Troy University in 2022. Laura’s social work career began with hospice volunteering and shifted to children. Being a military spouse of fourteen years, Laura has had the privilege of working with a multitude of clients, in both rural and urban areas. Her first paid position was working as a Family Advocate on a community level. After a year, she was accepted into the accelerated MSW program at Troy and pursued her position of being a Student Aide Substitute Teacher at DoDEA Southeast for emotionally impaired students. Laura enjoys working with modalities such as Psychodynamic Therapy, TF-CBT, CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and SPARCS. Laura’s goal is to help individuals feel validated and better by teaching skills that are easy to use to each individual.
