Denette Jackson

Denette Jackson is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) doctoral student in her final year of studies at the University of Tennessee College of Nursing. A native of East Tennessee, she grew up on a farm in a rural community deeply affected by drug use. She brings a strong background in reproductive health, public health, and community health nursing. An active member of several rural health councils, she is passionate about working with families and communities impacted by generational trauma, substance use disorders, and poverty. Her personal experiences inform her compassionate, community-centered approach to care. In her free time, she enjoys music and barbecue of all kinds.
