Denette Jackson, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Denette Jackson, DNP, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a Doctor of Nursing Practice graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she received the DNP Excellence Award.


A native East Tennessean, Denette grew up on a farm in a rural community deeply affected by substance use, giving her firsthand insight into the challenges faced by individuals, families, and communities impacted by addiction, trauma, and poverty.


She earned two degrees from Roane State Community College before completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at East Tennessee State University and her Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Tennessee. Her clinical background includes women's health, public health, community nursing, and nutrition. She has a special interest in supporting individuals and families affected by addiction while integrating harm reduction, evidence-based psychiatric care, and nutrition into treatment.


Denette is committed to providing compassionate, inclusive, evidence-based care that respects neurodiversity and honors each person's unique background, identity, relationships, and lived experiences. She partners with patients to help them achieve meaningful, lasting improvements in their mental health and overall well-being.


Outside of work, Denette enjoys music, gardening, and learning new skills. A proud mother, she is known for enthusiastically embracing new hobbies and bringing curiosity and creativity to everything she does.
