School-Based Behavioral Health Liaison
Caitlyn Barger, LMSW received her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Mississippi State University, and she completed her Master of Science in Social Work degree at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Her first position in mental health was with the Mental Health Association of East TN as a Mental Health Educator for K-12 students. She has also worked in substance use as an individual, family, and group therapist at Cornerstone of Recovery. Caitlyn loves working with kiddos of all ages as well as their families. Caitlyn enjoys working with modalities such as Psychodynamic Therapy, CBT, TF-CBT, CBITS, DBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) Schema Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). She also has a certificate in Veterinary Social Work and loves to incorporate the Human-Animal connection in therapy when possible. Caitlyn’s goal for therapy is to help individuals feel better by teaching skills that are easy to understand and use while also helping them understand root causes of their concerns.
